The Club is delighted to announce that we have entered into a partnership with the Hilton RSL to have Club bands performing at the Hilton RSL Hall!
The hall is located at 147 Sir Donald Bradman Drive, Hilton, which is just down from Main South Road on the left heading West. The hall is a good size and made up of two rooms separated via an open concertina door. One room is like a pub, with a bar, tables, stand-up tables, darts and pool tables, the other room is a large open space with a beautiful Jarra floor. It is proposed that the band be set up in front of the large window, facing the larger hall. This is how it has always been done at the venue, but usually with the addition of extra tables and chairs in that section, for those that want to be near the band.
The first event will be on Saturday 10th May, in the evening, and two bands will get to play. First band is on stage at 8:00pm for a 60 min set, then a 30 min changeover break, then Band two at 9:30pm for a 60min set and the event will conclude at 10:30pm. Band registration will be via the website as per usual gigs, and the EMU will select bands based on the same criteria as a sponsored event, like Club Cool or the Macclesfield Bike show, where the venue will ratify the selections.
The Club will provide the backline and production. We are planning to have the most professional production we can, using the Clubs PA, Mixing Desk and Sound Engineer.
Hilton RSL will run the Bar and will be open for drinks all night & meals pre-show. Note that it’s not a restaurant so think Snitty, Chips & Salad… The night will be open to the public and it will be a ticketed event with a $10 entry fee that includes entry into a Raffle to be drawn on the night during the break.
This is an exciting opportunity for club bands to play to Friends & Family, Club members and the General Public on a Saturday night with great sound and lighting. So please mark the date in your Calendars and if you’re in a Club band, have the discussion and start planning that 60min set!
