Further I =
found a few googles that hint at the drum mic which yesterday was right =
alongside the bass cab, and could be 1 of the dry mics closest may have =
had plenty of gain allowing to pick up shit loads more than it should =
eg. Just the snare or hi-hat mic =E2=80=A6=E2=80=A6

=46rom what I can recollect:
Whilst Gavin says Richard did =
something to the bass head, that whatever it was may not have been the =
reason.
It could be the bass speaker being so close to the front of =
stage, which could=E2=80=99ve amplified or extenuated the low =
frequencies perhaps.
Gavin=E2=80=99s bass being semi-hollow could =
have a bit of feedback loop happening, given the previous 2 bass players =
had solid body basses.
Even after unplugging the speaker mic the =
problem was still present on stage and FOH.
I was with Billy trying =
to resolve it at the desk however nothing jumped out for either of us =
there and then. He had levels of everything cool and on some even down =
to negligible input level.
My thought is that Richard before he =
left early for the day, right on queue for you starting, had a low pass =
filter incorrectly set on the desk which stuffed up ampliifying the lows =
of bass frequencies, causing a feedback situation, and being a digital =
desk, was not obvious. The reason being that no matter what Gavin played =
in volume or notes were sufficient to be input, basically the bass, not =
Gavin, was the time bomb.
How this happened or if it was the =
cause I can=E2=80=99t say from a layman=E2=80=99s point of sound mixing, =
but from my knowledge of electronics and stage experience only; and, how =
shall I put it, not Billy=E2=80=99s fault.
Moving forward the =
Gallery & Front bar have an analogue desk which simplifies things. =
Given you will be there on the 25th, perhaps get more of sound =
check(s) until more at confidence of set up before starting.
PS Yes =
we have 3 bands now and Dave will email you later =
today.

I=E2=80=99m pretty stressed =

substandard.
It=E2=80=99s really hard when you are on stage to =
=E2=80=9Ctroubleshoot=E2=80=9D issues and I was wondering if you had any =

at least, none of us could hear each other.
I=E2=80=99m starting =
to wonder if it=E2=80=99s something we are doing – we invariably have =
