How are our singers and musos coping during the lockdown? Apart from solo practice, how are you getting your performance fix or collaborating with others? Do you have any tips or recommendations for our members, e.g. have you used any online services or apps for working together while in isolation? Any other hints on how your band members stay connected?
The Club's Management Commitee has decided to extend the memberships of everyone who was a financial member at the time of the suspension of Club activities.
The Club recognizes the lack of performance opportunities for members caused by the restrictions imposed on it and on entertainment venues to help combat the present health crisis.
Therefore we have added three months onto the expiry date of everyone who was a member at the time of the suspension.
Individual emails were sent to all eligible members with details of their new expiry dates.
President's Message
The Management Committee of the SA Live Music Club has decided to suspend all club gigs and public activities until further notice.
The committee considered this matter very seriously and made the decision in accordance with current public health advice to observe social distancing protocols during the current pandemic and the Government’s recently announced ban on non-essential indoor meetings of more than 100 people.
The SA Live Music Club understands members' disappointment and regrets the inconvenience to bands, but considers the health and safety of its members, guests and audiences to be of paramount importance.
The committee will review the suspension towards the end of next month and make a decision whether to continue or lift it, depending on the prevailing circumstances and public advice at the time. If the suspension of activities continues, the committee will review the situation on a month by month basis.
We thank members for their patience and understanding during this challenging time.
